Katherine "Kathy" Acero Pena

With over 12 years of experience as a paralegal and legal document specialist, Kathy founded Acero Legal Solutions as a "one-stop for all" entity to empower individuals to navigate the legal system with confidence without an attorney. Her background is rooted in a deep commitment to legal literacy and accessible services for the Monterey County community and its surroundings such as San Benito and Santa Cruz communities.

Advanced Expertise and Education

Kathy brings a unique level of academic and practical rigor to the document preparation process. She is currently a fourth-year Juris Doctorate candidate at Monterey College of Law, where she has been recognized for her academic dedication and leadership. Kathy is currently a board member of the MCL Student Bar Association and the Monterey County Bar Association, where she serves her term as the elected MCL Representative.

During her time in law school, she served as a Certified Law Student, gaining hands-on experience in the courtroom and navigating complex litigation proceedings under the supervision of Levi Weikel-Magden, Esq. and Patricia Adura-Miranda, Esq.

Kathy has handled Family Law cases from the beginning-to-end for the past 8 years in Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz counties. She has also worked in Employment Law, and Civil Litigation with local attorneys. Prior to that, Kathy volunteered at the Self-Help Center at the Los Angeles Superior Court assisting Pro Se litigants in various areas of law, and worked as an immigration paralegal for Meredith Brown, Esq. at a law firm in Glendale, CA.
